LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT YEARS RUT!!!

Well if you saw some nice deer this year and you didn't shoot them. Your most likely looking forward to next year's rut. This was the first year I based my days out on the moon phase. A guy I work with said it is the hottest point of the rut during a full moon. So really there could be 3 ruts possibly 4, but I tested his method and it seems to be a good tactic. With my slug gun in hand I made for the woods. I can only hunt hogs so I figured hog hunt and practice my whitetail skills. In a previous post I mentioned I saw a good buck and later posted the picture. I hope to see him again this year and get more shots of him. I will leave the house religiously with video camera in hand. I just hope I can hold the damn thing still enough to get a good picture or video of him. I scanned him and zoomed in on him pretty good for a good look of his rack. Enjoy!

HOGS and HOGS and more HOGS!

Well had a full roll of film tonight. Had all hog pictures except 1 deer pic. These little guys have grown in the past year and have become quite ugly and mean looking. These boys are starting to become more day movers and less night time moving. The trees are all sprouting new leaves and spring is just around the corner. With this new growth comes a new season of animals. One of these pictures looks as though the female is giving in to the old boar. Looks also that I have one little one behind the big one in a picture there. I'll be posting the picture of the little 6 pt young deer I got a picture of later. Hope you like the hog pictures. Also may have some turkey pictures coming soon as I may be making a trip to my friend's brother's lease in good old Eldorado Texas!! Its some, if not the most beautiful country in the great state of Texas.

Later!!!!

BOBCAT HUNT!

This goes out to all you Celina Texas folks. This is the mascot of their school. There is an amazing story behind this hunt. We called and called this guy to only a hundred yards or so on a moonless night. We actually stalked towards him within an incredible 10 to 20 yards. My scoped marlin was not a choice gun at that range but I shot a few times. No kill was the result. My buddy whipped out his old Remington and popped him square in the eye. He weighed about 22 lbs. He had great color and spotting.
